This route is the best for the first contact with Brazil. You will find some nice small waves for downwind, beatiful fisherman villages, nice hotels and delicious Brazilian food.

Ceará is one of the 27 states of Brazil, located in the northeastern part of the country, on the Atlantic coast. It is also one of the main tourist destinations in Brazil. The state capital is the city of Fortaleza, the country’s fourth most populous city.

Literally, the name Ceará means “sings the jandaia.  According to José de Alencar, one of the most important writers of Brazil and an authority in Tupi Guaraní, Ceará means turquoise or green waters. There are also theories that the state name would derive from Siriará, a reference to the crabs from the seashore. In this path you will get to know beautiful places like: Paracuru, Flexeiras, Baleia, Ilha do Guajiru (international kite point) and Arpoeiras beach.

Arriving at Rancho do Peixe, an amazing kite spot, just few km downwind from Jericoacoara. that is a truly beautiful beachside hotel spread over several acres with kite rigging area, bar, restaurant and swimming pool. This hotel was selected as a Tripadvisor 2017 Travelers Choice and a Condé Nast award in 2017. Rancho is 12km from Jericoacoara, a legendary end-of-the-earth town that is definitely worth a night or two on the end of the trip.
